2010 Stone Hut Vineyard Shiraz

Shiraz from a vineyard in between Keyneton and Angaston in the Eden Valley Region. The vines are grown in alluvial, gravel/loam soils at an altitude of 400m. The grapes are harvested by hand and fermented in small batches on skins for up to 14 days. A small component of whole bunches are included for tannin structure and aromatics. The wines are pressed and racked to French oak puncheons (33% new) for 16 months maturation prior to bottling.

“From former Henschke winemaker Michael Schreurs comes a very smart Eden Valley shiraz in typical regional style: spicy, herbal, elegant and sweetly ripe with hints of raspberry jam. It's fruit-driven and the tannins are so soft they leave an almost sweet impression. Now to 2018. 93/100.
Food: Pink lamb chops.”
